Pastoral Care at Holy Family Catholic Primary School is foundational to who we are, what we do and why we do it. Our policy is based upon shared Catholic values through which families and staff work together to provide a positive supportive environment characterised by trust, cooperation and respect. We build strong and positive relationships which typify our Holy Family community.
Holy Family is a community that provides a strong sense of wellbeing, belonging and security where students are given every opportunity to be affirmed with dignity and worth and assisted to grow to the fullness of their potential. We acknowledge the right for all members of our community to feel safe.
Holy Family Catholic Primary School was founded in the Brigidine tradition, and the values and charism that Saint Brigid promoted are embedded into our Mission and Vision Statements. Throughout the school, we have shared values which provide staff, parents and children with the language to discuss behaviour in a consistent way.
Our Brigidine values are reflected in our school rules: Respect, Responsibility and to Learn. Our commitment to these values and rules therefore means that at Holy Family every child has the right to be safe and to feel safe. In all that we do we aim to develop confidence and competence in our students and encourage a real connection to their school and their community. These strengths allow them to face life-long challenges in a positive and resilient manner.
Anti-Bullying
The School Pastoral Care Policy incorporates an Anti-Bullying Policy. Staff continually refine the procedures for reporting and recording incidents of bullying in the school community. The children receive regular input from staff to ensure that pastoral care and anti-bullying procedures are priorities for the whole school.
