School Musical Costumes
KINDERGARTEN
Any SEA CREATURE that lives in the ocean or that you would find in an ‘Octopus’s Garden’ – eg starfish, crab, shark, fish, dolphin, seahorse etc.
Your child may have a complete outfit or a special hat with t-shirt and shorts/tracksuit pants.
Year 1/2/3/4/5/6 BOYS – PIRATES
Black school shoes, black pants or black tracksuit pants or black jeans.
White t-shirt/white shirt or top with stripes.
Pirates may wear a sash around their waist (scarf), a bandana or pirate hat on their head and an eye patch would be great but is not compulsory.
NO SWORDS PLEASE.
Year 1/2/3 and some year 5/6 GIRLS – MERMAIDS
You are most welcome to wear Mermaid costumes if you already have them, but please make sure your daughter is able to walk in them without any restrictions and her middle is covered completely – no visible flesh please.
Otherwise, black or coloured leggings/stockings with a long coloured top to go over these with ballet shoes/jiffy slippers or same coloured socks as leggings/stockings, with long necklaces and flower headbands for decoration.
A mermaid costume that you cannot walk in freely can still be used by tying the tail around the waist and wearing stockings/leggings to move about freely.
Year 4 GIRLS – PARROTS
Black or coloured leggings/stockings with a long coloured top to go over these or a tutu.
Ballet shoes/jiffy slippers or same coloured socks as leggings/stockings.
We are currently making parrot headpieces and parrot wings.
WHERE TO BUY:
You will find items can be purchased from Kmart, Big W, Target, Spotlight and Party Savers, but it is NOT compulsory to do this, as items you may already have at home can create the look you are after.
Please bring your child’s costume in a bag, clearly labelled with their name to school as soon as possible. This will enable us to assist your child if they need any help with their costume.
Also, if you have any spare items at home that you are happy to donate, please bring those to school as soon as possible as this will also help other students.
Thank you for supporting our Whole School Concert Pirates vs Mermaids!
