The sacraments of First Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion are important and wonderful steps on your children’s faith journey and their welcome into the Church community.
The celebrations of the sacraments are important events in the life of your family and also of the wider Church community.
The Sacramental Preparation Programmes help prepare members of the parish to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
There will be a number of special celebrations at Sunday Masses in the weeks prior to the celebration of each sacrament. Attendance at these celebrations is an essential part of your participation in the preparation programme.
Why Confirmation first?
In our diocese we follow the traditional order of the sacraments, with First Holy Communion being the final of the above three sacraments to be celebrated. The celebration of First Reconciliation and Confirmation therefore precede First Communion.

How to enrol
Enrolments and Payments are done online through Trybooking.com.
In 2024 the cost for each sacramental preparation programme will be $75 per family (not per child) + Trybooking fee. If you have difficulty paying this fee, please contact Fr Colin on colin@lindfieldkillara.org.au or (02) 9416 7195.
All children are very welcome and if you have any concerns if your child has difficulties, please contact us and we will make a plan together.

In Preparation
Baptism certificates: A copy of your child’s baptism certificate must be emailed to maia@lindfieldkillara.org.au upon enrolment. If your child was baptised in the Lindfield-Killara Parish, please still email me so we know to look you up in our system.
Group Sessions: Will be held on Lindfield Church and School grounds, unless Covid restrictions apply and we will offer other arrangements in this case.
For Confirmation:
Confirmation Name: Please think of and research a Confirmation Name with your child, before the enrolment dates, as you will need this to enrol online. Our diocese asks that the Confirmation name be a Canonised Saint’s name since your child is choosing that saint as a model to follow in their own Christian life.
Your child may also choose to be confirmed with their original Baptism Name (if it is a Saint’s name). Saints names that will be accepted are found on the Parish website under ‘Sacraments’ → at the bottom of the page see the link under – ‘Choosing the name of a Saint for Confirmation’.
Sponsor: Your child’s sponsor needs to be over 16 years old and fully initiated into Catholic Church (i.e. has received Confirmation and Holy Communion). A parent can stand in for an absent sponsor but cannot be the sponsor.
Other information:
For your convenience, the Piety Shop for Sacramental gifts is located in the parish office (1st floor, above the Lindfield church). We stock gifts including Bibles, religious books, rosary beads, figurines, prayer cards and much more.
